Prof. Dr. Basant Pant is a distinguished Nepali neurosurgeon, academic, researcher, and healthcare leader with more than three decades of experience in neurosurgery. He currently serves as Chairman of Annapurna Neurological Institute & Allied Sciences in Kathmandu and has played a significant role in advancing specialized neurological care in Nepal. He holds MBBS, MD, and PhD qualifications and has developed expertise in complex neurosurgical fields including brain tumors, epilepsy surgery, neuroendoscopy, movement disorders, and functional neurosurgery.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Pant has made important contributions to medical education, research, and professional development in Nepal. He has authored and contributed to numerous scientific publications and has been involved in advancing epilepsy and functional neurosurgery. He is also a founding member and Chairman of Neuro-Foundation Nepal and a former President of the Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons. Through his leadership, research, teaching, and commitment to patient care, Dr. Pant continues to contribute to the development of modern neurosurgical services and healthcare in Nepal.
